To help you navigate the classification of our products in the context of the implementation of the PPWR, which is planned for August 2026, we have prepared an overview of basic information on each type of packaging in our range.

Classification under the PPWR: transition period and gradual clarification of the rules
The PPWR is currently in the phase of implementation and progressive specification. For this reason, we answer mainly in general and indicative terms. A number of detailed requirements - in particular in the area of recyclability, assessment methodology and uniform certification - are still being refined and harmonised at EU level.

Current status of PPWR and impact on the assessment of our packaging
Our portfolio includes flexible packaging made of composite materials (e.g. plastic/paper), mono-material solutions and compostable packaging. The PPWR assessment does not only depend on the type of material used, but also on the specific layer composition, the intended use and the available collection, sorting and recycling systems.

What we can do for you now
We encourage you to download our guide (to be added soon), which offers an indicative estimate of the recyclability of different materials in the context of PPWR. However, it is important to remember that the implementation of PPWR is gradual and the stricter requirements will only be fully implemented from 2030.

In parallel with our suppliers and partners, we are preparing product-specific PPWR assessments and related documentation. Uniform and binding certificates or final classifications are therefore not yet available for all packaging types. We continuously monitor regulatory developments and will provide you with specific information and corresponding product-specific documents as soon as reliable and uniformly valid documentation is available.

Sustainability and compliance of our packaging solutions with the PPWR
As a flexible packaging manufacturer, we develop our products in compliance with current and future regulatory requirements of the European Union, in particular the PPWR. Our goal is to offer packaging that is functional, safe and cost-effective, while meeting the increasing demands for recyclability, resource conservation and overall environmental responsibility. We therefore take into account key PPWR criteria already in the development phase, in particular:

  • Design for recycling and circular economy

  • efficient use and material minimisation

  • recyclability according to established evaluation models

  • transparency throughout the supply chain

PPWR-related certifications, classifications, declarations of conformity and related supporting documents are currently being progressively developed. As soon as they are available on a consistent and credible basis, we will share them with you on an ongoing basis.
